Hosts Germany will kick off the 18th football World Cup on Friday after the opening ceremony in Munich. A further 63 games will take place before the winners are crowned after the final in Berlin on 9 July.
The first match will be preceded by an opening ceremony in which more than 150 players who have won the World Cup, including Pele and Diego Maradona, will be on display.
