Will they be a mockery of African football?

African nations Togo and Angola are not traditional footballing heavyweights. Their first foray into the World Cup in this series has raised some eyebrows around the world. What can they do in Germany? And how far can they go? Will they end up being an embarrassment to the African football?

Some even say that Togo and Angola were lucky to qualify and will be so far out of their depth that they'll make a mockery of African football.

Cameroonian World Cup legend Roger Milla however thinks these two teams will do well in Germany.

In an interview with the Guardian, he says:

“They topped their groups so they're in the World Cup on merit. I'm delighted to be represented by them and I only ask that they prepare properly and try to do us proud.”

He however was not prepared to predict which of the five African qualifiers will go farthest in Germany.

Togo is in the same group as France, South Korea and Switzerland while Angola has Iran, Mexico and Portugal for company.

The other African qualifiers are Ghana, Ivory Coast and Tunisia.
