Dying slowly in the group of death

So far in the World Cup, three teams have impressed me much. They all come from the same group – Group C – dubbed as the Group of Death. It’s a pity that of these three - Argentina, Holland and Ivory Coast – only two will progress into round two.

All these teams play today and I am sure their games will be as good as it was in their first matches.

The day’s proceedings start with favourites Argentina taking on Serbia and Montenegro. This is a game which the South Americans should win without much trouble and comfortably get into the second round. Sadly Argentinian blue boy Lionel Messi will once again miss this match due to injury. However they do have enough firepower in Hernan Crespo and Javier Saviola to ease through.

Player to watch out: Juan Roman Riquelme (Argentina)

Then after this comes the match of the day – Holland vs Ivory Coast. The game will see Chelsea teammates Arjen Robben and Didier Drogba trying to outdo each other.

I hope Ivory Coast win this match. They played so well against Argentina in their first game and still ended losing 2-1. Drogba was their goal-scorer. Holland too showed us how football should be played in their first game and the opponents had no answer to their speed. The won their first game by a single goal scored by Robben.

This match will be exciting, fast and highly entertaining. I don’t think either of the team will hold back and defend. Instead it is their nature to attack. If Ivory Coast win, then it will make the last matches in this group ever more exciting.

And I can’t wait to see Argentina play Holland on next Wednesday.
